Formerly known as the BLACK ENTERPRISE Entrepreneurs Summit, FWD will bring an estimated 1200 innovators, creators, entrepreneurs, and founders of color from across the nation to the city of Charlotte

Carlos V. Davis, speaker, networking expert and chief empowerment officer  for Stand & Deliver LLC, a professional development firm, will serve as the emcee for FWD: Business On Your Own Terms, a national business conference for entrepreneurs and business owners of color presented by media company BLACK ENTERPRISE (BE) and hosted by Nationwide. The conference is scheduled from Wednesday, June 19 until Saturday, June 22 at the Charlotte Convention Center. Formerly known as the BE Entrepreneurs Summit, FWD will provided much needed education and resources for founders, small businesses, entrepreneurs and other creators. This year’s keynote speakers include Wendy Williams, Ryan Leslie, Karen Civil and John Henry.

Davis is no stranger to the BLACK ENTERPRISE family. In 2018, Davis was selected as one of the BE Modern Man 100 Honorees and has been featured for his popular bi-monthly networking luncheon, Connecting The Dots. Davis has been on the BE steering committee since 2017, helping to welcome BLACK ENTERPRISE into the Charlotte business community as part of a hand selected group of local entrepreneurs and city officials. Now as BE returns to Charlotte for a second year, their selection of Davis to host was not only the obvious choice, but a great one.

“I’m excited to host this year’s FWD because I have the opportunity to present Charlotte, the city that embraced me, on a national platform,” explains Davis. “This also allows me to connect attendees to opportunities that they wouldn’t ordinarily have access to, and that’s important to me.”

As a networking expert, Davis hosts regular networking events in the greater metropolitan Charlotte area and is the founder of Charlotte Professional Networking Week, which just celebrated its five-year anniversary earlier this year. As a professional speaker, Davis’ portfolio is diverse and has worked with the likes of Daimler Trucks North America, Verizon Wireless, the University of Arkansas, LPL Financial and the City of Charlotte. In addition to his business endeavors, Carlos teaches a semester of professional networking skills development to PhD candidates of the University of North Carolina – Charlotte’s Urban Education Collaborative. Davis’ firm, Stand & Deliver is a premier professional development firm that takes a unique approach to professional development by focusing on four pillars: speaking, fitness training, coaching and event collaborations.
