Fresh off of the success of their Indie Soul, star studded Lauryn Hill tribute event of spring 2009 at Temple M in Harlem, Injoy Enterprises (www.injoyenterprises.com) and Make It Happen Entertainment (www.myspace.com/mihemusic) present “Revisiting Marvin Gaye – From What’s Going On to Let’s Get It On”. The show will pay homage to the man and his music by having some of the most progressive independent Soul artists on the scene today, perform his 2 best selling albums: “What’s Going On” and “Let’s Get It On” from top to bottom, in their entirety.

Marvin Gaye’s extraordinary career matched his extraordinary life, a mixture of blessings and banes, dazzling success and inscrutable pain. His biography and discography are twin reflections of the same dualty: the artistic and personal struggle to heal the split between head and heart, flesh and spirit, ego and God. Meanwhile, the music lives on for the pleasures of its beauty and the marvel that was Marvin’s voice.

Confirmed artists performing during this incredible event include Chris Rob, Darien, Mike Hammond, Nakia Henry, Gloria Ry’Ann, Rogiers, Day  Lorenda Robinson, Res and more! The music will be provided by The Adam Ramsay/C.J. Glass Quintet.

Part of the proceeds from this event will benefit AMPED 4-A-CURE (amped4acure.org). Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. uses the universal language of music as the vehicle to deliver the message to the masses, the importance of getting behind the efforts of cancer research. By supporting all genres of music just as we are Amped 4-A-Cure for all types of cancer, A4AC is able to reach and spread the word to all people, from all walks of life.
