 About 5-Minutes Apart

We were born on April 7, 1971, in a small town called Eutaw in Alabama. We’re both single parents of 3 children with 1 boy and 2 girls each. I Wanda have been in Charlotte since 1992 and it wasn’t long that the (key) Wendy had to follow in 1995 the (lock) Wanda (since we are TWINS our logo is a lock and key). Our interest in design started in 2007, we were passionate about design, but our passion didn’t come with the financial means to attend school. Since we are Twins we came up with the business name of 5- Minutes Apart since that was the time frame of delivery between us. We started with machines from Goodwill and Craigslist with just making simple things like tote bags. Then we advanced our self learned practices into more creative designs. We purchased equipment to do transfers and screen prints on T-shirts. After introducing our line to family and friends our business began to head in the directions we were hoping and working so hard for. 5- Minutes Apart has designed patent a Maternity Line that is called “As We Grow”. Our initial idea was to cater to Boutiques but with the brand growing as it is we’ve decided to expand and we intend to only get bigger and better.
