Brittani Menina Named 2010 Charlotte Red Pump Ambassador

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 10, 2010) –  JSW Media Group is proud to announce that Brittani Menina, Event Manager for the company, has been selected by The Red Project Collective™ as Charlotte’s 2010 Red Pump Ambassador.  The Red Project Collective™ is the umbrella organization for The Red Pump Project™, a national initiative to raise awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls, ensuring that women are empowered with accurate knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the issues surrounding it; currently, there are 40 ambassadors in 20 states. 

Menina played an instrumental role in the coordination of the very first Red Pump Project event in Carolinas.  The Red Pump/Red Tie Affair, a holiday gala and awards ceremony, was held in Charlotte, NC on December 1, 2009 to commemorate World AIDS Day.  Menina’s tireless dedication did not go unnoticed, making her the perfect candidate to follow Charlotte’s 2009 Red Pump Ambassador, Jameka Whitten, CEO of JSW Media Group.

Today’s announcement is particularly significant because March 10th is recognized as National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD).  In honor of NWGHAAD, Menina is hosting “Pump Up the Awareness: Let’s Talk,” a round table discussion on the campus of Johnson & Wales University from 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Guests will also have the opportunity to sign up for Team Red Pump who will participating  in Charlotte’s AIDS Walk on May 1, 2010.
