When She Wins, We All Win!: The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Queen City Metropolitan Chapter Will Hold Their 7th Annual My Sister’s Keeper Awards Luncheon on May 22

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Queen City Metropolitan Chapter (NCBW-QCMC) will honor five outstanding local Black women leaders at their 7th Annual My Sister’s Keeper Awards Luncheon. This year’s event will be held virtually on May 22 at 11:00 a.m. 

This 2021 theme is ‘When She Wins, We All Win!’ and will celebrate and highlight female empowerment and educational advancement in the Charlotte metropolitan area, both of which are core values of the organization. 

The mission of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. Queen City Metropolitan Chapter is to improve the lives of Black women and their families by advocating for programs focusing on education, health, and economic empowerment. NCBW-QCMC proudly offers a variety of programs designed to empower women and young girls of color by offering them the tools necessary to succeed. The annual luncheon also serves as NCBW-QCMC’s largest fundraiser with funds supporting their programming and the scholarship fund. 

The following women will be honored in the areas of health, education, economic empowerment, and public policy. A special community/unsung hero award will also be given: 

Advocacy in Health 

Tamara Neely, Family Nurse Practitioner 

Advocacy in Education

Robin Green, Compliance Analyst for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools 

Advocacy in Economic Empowerment 

Fran Farrer, Publisher of the County News 

Advocacy in Public Policy  

Jessica Davis, Vice-Chair for the Mecklenburg County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council  and Adjunct Professor in Business Administration and Economics Department at Johnson C Smith University

Community/Unsung Hero 

Davita Galloway, Co-founder & Owner of Dupp & Swat

In addition to the above five honorees, NCBW-QCMC will also acknowledge their 2020 Young Scholars awardees–Sky Everson, Lauren Mitchell, and Kendall Terry, who all received scholarships from the organization.
