A grand induction ceremony,  grand opening celebration, and special live performance will be part of the scheduled festivities at the museum’s flagship retail location, The Hip Hop Shop

Washington, DC  (March 9, 2023) – Hip Hop Legend, Serial Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist Ed “Special Ed” Archer will be inducted into The National Hip-Hop Museum on Saturday, March 11, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at The Hip-Hop Shop located in the Dupont/Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. 

In addition to the Grand Induction Ceremony, where Special Ed will be joined by fellow hip hop pioneers CL Smooth and Dres (of Black Sheep fame), there will be a grand opening celebration for its newest dispensary location, The Orbit Shop (located within The Hip Hop Shop). 

The Hip-Hop Shop opened earlier this year and has the largest selection of Hip-Hop memorabilia on the East Coast, including vintage apparel, sneakers, toys, memorabilia, vinyl, and art. It is the National Hip-Hop Museum’s flagship retail and event space. The new space is conveniently located at 1919 18th St NW (at the corner of 18th and Florida).

Saturday’s festivities include a live performance by Special Ed featuring his lifelong DJ and friend DJ Akshun Love.

Special Ed will dedicate his performance to SEAL Arts & Literacy, his newly formed federally recognized national 501(c)3 organization.
