Charlotte VegFest Returns After Two-Year Hiatus

Charlotte VegFest 2022

2022 CHARLOTTE VEGFEST CELEBRATES COMMUNITY, CULTURE AND COMPASSION ON SEPTEMBER 17

The 9th annual festival will showcase hundreds of local, regional, and national vegan food vendors, businesses, and organizations during the family-friendly, day-long event.

(Charlotte, N.C.) – After a two-year hiatus, the 9th Annual Charlotte VegFest is back and scheduled for Saturday, September 17, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Ford Building at Camp North End, located at  1774 Statesville Ave.  Admission to the family-friendly event is complimentary, and attendees can expect more than 150 vegan food vendors, vegan food trucks, and businesses providing vegan-friendly products and services. The festival typically attracts an estimated 5,000 vegan, plant-based, and veg-curious patrons from across the state.

This year, three nationally renowned speakers will grace the main stage – Dr. Milton Mills, a plant-based vegan clinician and activist; Gene Baur, acclaimed author, longtime vegan activist, and founder of Farm Sanctuary; and John Lewis, known by his moniker Bad Ass Vegan, a documentary filmmaker, vegan activist, and fitness expert. This diverse lineup of speakers will help educate, entertain and inspire those looking to learn more about living a more compassionate and sustainable lifestyle. Additionally, there will be cooking demonstrations from local vegan and plant-based chefs as well as two expert panel discussions exploring topics related to health and entrepreneurship.

And, of course, one of the biggest draws to Vegfest is the food – and this year’s food court will not disappoint. The large vegan food court features a plethora of vegan chefs, restaurants, and food trucks, including popular favorites Cooking with Joya, Ve-Go Vegan to Go, The Wicked Vegans, and Mike’s Vegan Cookout. The 2022 VegFest will have something that everyone can enjoy.

“Come get to know Charlotte’s massive vegan community while we take over Camp North End,” says Julia Simon, president of Charlotte VegFest.  “With campus-wide events, panels and activities, this will be a fabulous day full of delicious food, education on all facets of the vegan movement, community connection, and fun for the entire family.”

Campus-wide activations throughout Camp North End are also planned, along with an official afterparty complete with a DJ, live performance, art, vendors, and more. Vegfest is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
