Charlotte, The 2019 Healthy Living Expo is on March 16!

NCBWQCMC

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Queen City Metropolitan Chapter (NCBW-QCMC) will host its fourth annual Healthy Living Expo on Saturday, March 16 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Carole Hoefener Center (615 E. Sixth Street) in Uptown Charlotte.

NCBW-QCMC’s Healthy Living Expo was created to advance the organization’s national focus on health consciousness. The expo will highlight health initiatives that prevent and combat mortality through education and provide resources to affordable health care in communities of color, especially the African American community.

The expo will feature myriad healthy and educational activities that will appeal to the entire family. Cardiovascular health screenings performed by Novant Health, fun physical activities and a variety of informative workshops—including a panel discussion about reproductive health and the prevention of HIV and other STIs—are planned for the expo.  Attendees will be able to support local vendors and exhibitors. By fostering an educational environment, the expo will create an experience that both promotes acute health awareness and provides a tangible outline on how to reach sustainable health goals.

The Healthy Living Expo is a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public. Event partners include Charlotte Housing Authority, Mecklenburg County Health Department, Novant Health and JSW Media Group. To register or for general information, visit www.ncbw-qcmc.org. There are still some vendor and exhibitor opportunities available.

For media inquiries or to schedule an interview with event organizers, contact Jameka Whitten at 704.965.3297 or jameka@jswmediagroup.com. On-site interviews will also be available.
