Donald Wilson: Actor/Filmmaker

Actor|Filmmaker|Poet

Donald Wilson has just the right mix of ingredients to be a true Hollywood star—classic American boy next door good looks, amazing smile and devastating charm—all housed in a 6’2” athletic frame. But Donald isn’t just a handsome face, the recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is already well on his way to becoming a formidable Actor, Filmmaker and Poet.

You can’t teach character and charisma, and Donald has both qualities in droves. Born in Chicago, Illinois, but raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Donald is the perfect southern gentleman at heart, and often brings that sensitivity and charm to each of his roles.

Although, he is at the start of his career in the entertainment industry, Donald has a solid foundation in theater arts (he majored in Communications with a minor in Theater), making him a joyful (and integral) addition to all projects of which he has been a part.

Donald had his national live television debut as the Ultimate Fan/Co-Host for 106 & Park’s 10th Year Anniversary Show on Black Entertainment Television (BET) while he was still a student at UNCC.  His appearance on the show garnered a lot of attention for Donald as well positive praise for his work. Since graduation in 2011, Donald has had the opportunity to work on major projects including Showtime’s thriller/drama “Homeland” and Stevan Soderberg’s feature film, The Hunger Games. However, his most prominent career highlight to date was the role of “Frankie,” a young Wendell Scott in the critically acclaimed ESPN/NASCAR television movie Wendell Scott: A Race Story; this film chronicled the life of the first African American driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race.

In addition to his acting aspirations and significant work as a spoken word poet, Donald launched Blach Collar Entertainment, a full service video production company that specializes in music videos, documentaries, and independent films.  Donald is currently in pre-production for his very first feature film to be shot entirely in Charlotte, North Carolina during the fall of 2012.

Donald has so much to offer the industry and is truly making an impact.  Soon Donald Wilson will be a household name, a sought after talent in the film industry—both in front of and behind the camera. Take note, and watch out.
