Celebrate the Official Launch of Red Pump DC at the Red Summer Soiree

In Commemoration of National HIV Testing Day

The Red Pump Project announced its newest signature event the Red Summer Soiree, a benefit brunch commemorating National HIV Testing Day in Washington, D.C. The Red Summer Soiree will take place on Saturday, June 21 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at M Street Bar & Grill (2033 M Street NW) in the heart of DC.  In addition to being a fundraiser, this benefit brunch will also celebrate the official launch of Red Pump DC, marking the non-profit organization’s presence in the nation’s capital. Guests will experience an afternoon filled with social justice and red carpet glam, featuring a gourmet three-course brunch with unlimited mimosas and champagne, live entertainment, an awards presentation and silent auction.

“We are excited and honored to finally have a presence in Washington, D.C.,” said Brittani Menina, National Ambassador Coordinator for The Red Pump Project. “We hope that our inaugural event will encourage continuous testing and we wish to raise funds to support our local and outreach initiatives in an effort to execute educational programs within the community.”

With black women accounting for the majority (92.2%) of living HIV cases in the District (doh.dc.gov), the launch of Red Pump’s presence in D.C. could not have come at a more ideal time.

The Red Summer Soiree is a signature event for The Red Pump Project to help further its mission to raise awareness for HIV and AIDS among women. The soiree also honors a prominent female leader in the community for her individual efforts to raise awareness and education with the Ultimate Red Pump Rocker Award.
